Temple Nephrology Fellowship Program Highlights

  • Dynamic didactic conferences, including Core Concepts in Nephrology, Journal Club, Renal Grand Grounds, Multi-Disciplinary Nephrolithiasis Management, Multiple Disciplinary Vascular Access Management.
  • Renal pathology conference (weekly), moderated by our dedicated nephropathologist to review all recent transplant and native kidney biopsies with nephrology faculty and fellows.
  • Structured Board Review Curriculum, including a weekly conference with board-style questions from the American Society of Nephrology’s Kidney Self-Assessment Program.
  • Integration of advanced practice providers in the outpatient setting to complement the care delivered by our nephrology fellows and faculty.
  • A dedicated outpatient experience during the first year of fellowship without inpatient responsibilities (6 to 8 weeks).
  • 1 in 8 weeknight (home) calls and 6 weekends/year.
  • Active research programs in social determinants of health, transplantation, glomerulonephritis, and nephrology education.
  • Outstanding critical care experience, including point of care ultrasound, ECMO, CRRT, ventricular assist devices, and the opportunity to do a critical care elective with the Thoracic Medicine/Critical Care faculty. 
  • Multi-disciplinary Lupus Clinic with exposure to clinical trials in lupus nephritis.
  • Multi-Disciplinary Hypertension Clinic with exposure to complex hypertension management and 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.
  • Educational stipends to attend national conference and purchase study materials.
  • An outpatient vascular access rotation.
  • Active home dialysis program, including both peritoneal dialysis and home hemodialysis.
  • High-volume solid organ transplant center, including kidney, pancreas, lung, liver and heart.
