Medical Acupuncture
Acupuncture encourages the body to promote healing and to improve functioning. This is done by inserting needles and applying heat or electrical stimulation at specific acupuncture points. Acupuncture is a very old medical art that dates back over 2,000 years. Today, acupuncture is practiced widely worldwide, and is increasingly used by patients and doctors in the United States. Medical acupuncture is a system which can influence three areas of health care: Promotion of health and well-being, prevention of illness treatment of various medical conditions. LGBTQ+ Care Program
General Internal Medicine at the Episcopal Campus is an LGBTQ+ centered practice. We provide respectful and knowledgeable care to all members of the LGBTQ+ community with a full array of services, including primary medical care, HIV care and prevention, diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections, Hepatitis C treatment, therapy for substance use disorders, and gender-affirming hormone therapy. We use an informed consent model for beginning hormone therapy, and we work closely with other providers (gender affirming surgeons and specialists, vocal therapy, mental health) to ensure that patients receive holistic and comprehensive care.

TRUST Program for Substance Use Disorder
Several General Internal Medicine physicians see patients at the Medical Office Building to provide office-based medication-assisted therapy with buprenorphine for opiate use disorder. Our goal is to provide a welcoming, nonjudgmental approach to caring for you or your loved one with opioid use disorder and provide a comprehensive, whole-person treatment aimed at seeking recovery. As such, we understand that the social complexities and challenges that are barriers to recovery must be addressed as part of our treatment plan. For this reason, we have partnered with a number of community resources to provide links to services. Patients may be referred by other General Internal Medicine physicians, from the emergency department, community physicians, or via self-referral. For more information, see https://www.templehealth.org/services/population-health/trust-clinic, and for appointments, please contact 215-707-1122.
