Intern Boot camp
Every Thursday evening for the first 6 weeks of residency the interns participate in ‘Intern Boot Camp’ which our senior resident and faculty lead teaching sessions reviewing the basic skills and techniques to prepare for their clinical rotations. Common topics include prenatal care, labor, postpartum, post operative care and common emergency room consultations. Simulation trainings also include vaginal and cesarean delivery, knot tying and suture technique, IUD insertion and perineal laceration repair. Research has shown that residents who received intern boot camp training are better prepared for their clinical rotations and perform higher on their CREOG exams.
