Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship

Welcome to the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program at Temple University Hospital!

We are so fortunate to have such excellent fellows and engaged clinical and research faculty here at Temple.  Every year is an opportunity to meet and train the next group of rising stars in academic and clinical cardiology. Our fellows receive incredible training in basic cardiovascular diseases, clinical cardiology, as well as the subspecialty practices.  Their clinical experiences allow exposure to cardiovascular-related diseases, didactic sessions covering basic mechanisms, cardiology subspecialty rotations and research opportunities.

On clinical rotations, fellows formulate evaluations of patients with cardiovascular illnesses and execute diagnostic and therapeutic plans in conjunction with an attending cardiologist.  Fellows at Temple work with culturally and socio-economically diverse patient populations that allow for exposure to various complex cardiac pathologies and the opportunity to develop sensitivity to diverse cultural needs.

During subspecialty rotations, fellow training spans cardiac catheterization, heart rhythm disorders, nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, cardiovascular surgery, vascular medicine, interventional electrophysiology, heart failure/transplant as well as pulmonary hypertension. They customize their training in the third-year according to different specialty tracks as they develop into cardiovascular practitioners and/or prepare for further subspecialty training.  Temple University Hospital also offers ACGME-approved subspecialty fellowship training in Interventional cardiology, Cardiac Electrophysiology and Heart Failure/Cardiac Transplantation.

Active research in cardiovascular disease at Temple engages fellows in the design, analysis, and preparation of data.   Specifically, the exposure to research and QI/QA begins in the first year with faculty mentorship, as fellows learn to ask clinically pertinent questions and later author manuscripts and present nationally.

We are currently accepting applications via ERAS and participate in the NRMP Match
