Residents are strongly encouraged to complete at least one research project during their residency and to present their result at a national meeting. Residents also prepare an annual project for presentation at the annual Matthew T. Moore Neurology Conference which takes place in June. They also participate in a yearly Quality Improvement/Patient Safety Program and present it during Grand Rounds in January.
Each resident is expected to prepare a research topic under the supervision of a preceptor. This is to be presented at the end of each academic year to the faculty. In most cases, the research can lead to a more longitudinal project and presentation at local and national neurological conferences and publication in a peer-reviewed journal.
