Temple Hosts Regional Symposium on Orthopaedic Trauma

The 6th Annual Philadelphia Orthopaedic Trauma Symposium was held in the Medical Education and Research Building (MERB) on June 6th – 7th. Co-hosted by Temple University School of Medicine (TUSM) and Trauma Orthopaedists of the Delaware Valley, the 12-CME-credit conference gave orthopaedic surgeons, residents, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants from across the region the opportunity to examine emerging technologies and methodologies in orthopaedic fracture management, discuss the latest evidence for the use of locked plates and related devices in orthopaedic trauma care, and learn how to best apply minimally-invasive fracture care.
 
"About 100 participants from throughout the region attended this year’s symposium which offered lectures from an outstanding multi-institutional faculty, skills workshops, small group discussions, research poster presentations, and technical exhibits covering cutting-edge topics in orthopaedic trauma," said the event’s co-chair Saqib Rehman, MD, Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at TUSM and Director of Orthopaedic Trauma at Temple University Hospital (TUH).
 
"Events such as this showcase TUSM’s commitment to educating and training surgeons and their care teams in the latest, evidence-based procedures and treatments to preserve the musculoskeletal function and well-being of trauma patients," he added.
