News May 20, 2014

On behalf of Dr. Larry Kaiser and the faculty and staff of Temple Health, Alan Rosenberg, Senior Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer, accepted the United Way 2014 ‘Game Changer’ Award from Jill Michal, President and CEO of United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.

The award, presented at the Temple University Health System (TUHS) All Boards meeting on May 20, 2014, recognized the significant increase in participation that occurred among Temple Health donors to a United Way Campaign in a one-year period.

"It's a phenomenal honor for me to be here today to present the ‘Game Changer’ Award to Temple Health," said United Way's Jill Michal -- noting that, in terms of total dollars raised, the generosity of Temple Health donors this year represented a 613% increase over last year.

"Our receipt of this year's ‘Game Changer Award’ was truly a team effort," said Rosenberg.

"Temple physicians and employees know that many of our patients have more challenges than health issues alone; and their generous support of this year's United Way Campaign brought them together to help serve our communities, as well."

"Day in and day out, Temple physicians and staff dedicate themselves to delivering quality care to patients," added Lon Greenberg, Chair of the Board of Directors of TUHS. "This award is quite an achievement, and recognizes the combined efforts of Temple faculty and staff in stepping forward, in yet another way, for the added benefit of patients and communities."
