The City-Wide NeuroAIDS Discussion Group

The City-Wide NeuroAIDS Discussion Group is a quarterly meeting organized by researchers at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM) at Temple University, the Drexel University College of Medicine (DUCOM) and the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP)/University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in conjunction with the NIMH-funded Comprehensive NeuroAIDS Center (CNAC) at LKSOM/Temple University and DUCOM. The Discussion Group is designed to stimulate discussion and collaboration on the topic of NeuroAIDS among the medical schools in the Philadelphia region. The focus of the meetings is on junior investigators, to promote translational AIDS research, and identify talents among the institutions, provide support (seed money) for exploring innovative ideas through inter-institutional collaboration. The meetings rotate among the participating institutions and each meeting includes an invited keynote speaker, research presentations from various investigators at the participating institutions followed by a panel discussion. The meeting is open to individuals interested in neuroAIDS research and registration is free.
