Temple University School of Medicine Ranked Among Top Medical Schools in the Nation by U.S. News & World Report
Temple University School of Medicine (TUSM) once again ranks as one of the top research-oriented medical schools in the nation on the 2016 U.S. News & World Report Best Graduate Schools list.
Temple earned the second-highest ranking of all medical schools in Philadelphia and the third-highest in the state. The U.S. News rankings are based on a multifactorial assessment of 130 allopathic and 26 osteopathic medical schools across the United States.
TUSM earned its ranking by exhibiting excellence in a number of measures, including student admission selectivity, reputation among peer institutions and residency program directors, research activity, and faculty resources. The School attracted more than $89 million in National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants in 2014, an average of $153,600 per faculty member.
“Temple University School of Medicine is proud to be recognized consistently as a leader in scientific investigation and discovery,” said Larry R. Kaiser, MD, FACS, Dean of the School of Medicine and President & CEO of Temple’s healthcare enterprise. “Our world-class faculty members have established a reputation for carrying out groundbreaking research in cardiovascular disease, cancer, neuroscience, genetics, HIV and other key investigative areas.”
