A message from Michael Lester
Assistant Dean, Physician/Faculty Recruitment and Retention
Welcome!
As a strategic partner with key stakeholders throughout Temple Health, it is the goal of the Office of Physician/Faculty Recruitment and Retention to advance the overall mission of Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (LKSOM) and the Temple Faculty Practice Plan, Inc. (TFPP) through the recruitment and retention of the nation’s leading physicians, educators and scientists.
Our core services include comprehensive physician/faculty recruitment and retention, medical staff planning, physician relations, compensation and benefits, diversity and inclusion, resident/fellow education, human resource information management and regulatory compliance. We offer customer-responsive recruitment services to our internal and external clients with a focus on retention and diversity while utilizing and often establishing search and selection best practices. This includes our innovative On-Boarding/ Integration program, which serves as the bridge from recruitment to retention while instilling confidence in the new physician/faculty member that they are valued and reaffirming their employment decision. This guarantees that all administrative and logistical issues are addressed prior to each new recruit’s start date. By implementing a new comprehensive orientation program, combined with exceptional one on one support, we can ensure that our faculty members experience seamless transitions into becoming productive members of the Temple community.
As the Assistant Dean of Physician/Faculty Recruitment and Retention for the School of Medicine and Temple Faculty Physicians, I am your immediate liaison. My team of dedicated professionals will ensure that your experience at each stage of the recruitment process is an exceptional one. Whether you’re looking for a career change or for your first professional position, give us the opportunity to introduce you to an organization that has been a Philadelphia institution for nearly 115 years and is widely recognized as an exceptional medical and educational institution with a diverse, socially-conscious student body as well as outstanding faculty who provide outstanding patient care and conduct leading-edge research. The continued success of Temple Health depends on our ability to recruit, select and retain faculty that reflect many aspects of diversity including experience, talent, thought, socioeconomic background, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, and gender expression and identity.
Temple is a unique organization where you can feel each team member’s strong commitment to the community and overall mission. It is a place where people are dedicated, work hard, aspire to do their best, and seek opportunity for advancement and professional growth.
