  • Why Chestnut Hill Family Practice: I chose CHFP because of its dedication to the community, the location, and because of the super friendly and down-to-earth residents and faculty I met throughout my interview day. It has been a great experience so far!

  • Favorite Spot in Philly: I-76 going to 30th St. Station. Just kidding; I enjoy any good restaurant or dessert place, and going to Sixers or Eagles games when I can!
  • Why Chestnut Hill Family Practice: I really wanted to make sure I had a great community in residency, and Chestnut Hill seemed just like that kind of place. From what I've heard about the program, then how interviews went, and now getting started, everybody has been very supportive and it's been great vibes. And after a year in the program, it's still been great!

  • Why Chestnut Hill Family Practice: From my first interaction with the residents and faculty at Chestnut Hill, I immediately felt welcomed into a warm and supportive environment. The faculty shared that the smaller program size meant that they could invest time in fostering each resident's unique interests. Coming from a medical school and large safety-net hospital, I wanted to prioritize training at a residency program with a strong emphasis on working with patients who are typically underserved.
  • Where can we find you when your pager is turned off: Exploring Philly with my partner: trying out new restaurants (primarily for their dessert), parks, and running routes.

I am so grateful to be a part of the Chestnut Hill family!

  • Why Chestnut Hill Family Practice: I really enjoyed my interview day experience. I visited the clinic during second look day, and everyone was very welcoming. I could see myself in this supportive environment.

  • Why Chestnut Hill Family Practice:  Everyone is so kind and helpful, you truly get a great family feel! Great faculty, staff, and residents that are always there for you!
  • Where can we find you when your pager is turned off: Traveling to different countries or national parks, skiing, hiking, working out, cooking, or hanging with friends and family! I’m probably outside doing something!

  • Why Chestnut Hill Family Practice: I spent time with the Chestnut Hill team as a student, and I was so impressed with how well everyone works together and how much they care about their patients. I knew coming to Chestnut Hill Family Practice would give me a chance work with the teachers and role models I need to become the kind of doctor I hope to be.

  • Why Chestnut Hill Family Practice: Easy: the people. From start to finish on interview day, I felt an immediate connection and sense of calmness when interacting with the residents and faculty at CHFP. Even from behind a computer screen, I could tell this was a place that was genuine, kind, respectful of each other, and dedicated to delivering quality and equitable care to the underserved community they serve.

  • Why Chestnut Hill Family Practice: During my interview, I could talk to faculty, residents and staff about anything and everything inside and outside the medicine and connect. Also, they are known for great teaching hospitals and a lot of electives that will help me be a well rounded family medicine physician for the future. 
  • Where can we find you when your pager is turned off? At home, carving wood, hosting board game nights, lathering myself in a Korean skincare routine. Or outside with my husband, biking and exploring the city (with sunscreen)

  • Why Chestnut Hill Family Practice: The emphasis on community at Chestnut Hill stood out the most, Chestnut Hill is a close-knit program that values resident wellness and mentorship. I am very excited to begin my residency training at Chestnut Hill!

  • Why Chestnut Hill Family Practice: One of the most striking aspects of Chestnut Hill Family Practice was knowing how welcoming everyone was on interview day and how committed the program was to making sure that residents had the tools to succeed. The surrounding area and hospital are very community focused and oriented, with the program being just a short while away from downtown Philadelphia. Being part of the larger Temple cohort also gave a feeling that all Temple residents together, in and surrounding the city, were really making a difference in furthering patient care. The program was perfect for me having family living in Philadelphia too!
