Before medical school, she worked in industry as an electrical engineer at Eaton Corporation and performed research in drug discovery at Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson. She completed the NIDDK Medical Student Research Program in Diabetes at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She is undecided on her future specialty choice, but is interested in endocrine and vascular surgery.

She has performed research in surgical oncology, end-of-life and palliative care, and medical education.
