The Department of Translational Research at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine builds on a long tradition of excellence in biomedical research and education. Formerly the Department of Medical Genetics and Molecular Biochemistry, we advance basic and translational research while educating learners at every level. Our faculty investigate the molecular, genetic, and cellular foundations of human disease. Join us as we study the mechanisms of health and disease and train the next generation of scientists and clinicians.

In the Department of Translational Research, we bridge the gap between patients and the lab to uncover the molecular roots of disease. Our research—from DNA sequencing to signaling pathways—fuels real-world advances in cancer, cardiovascular, liver, and neurodegenerative disorders.
