All alumni of The Lewis Katz School of Medicine, including those who completed residency or fellowship at Temple University Hospital, are automatically members of the Medical Alumni Association (MAA).
Our Mission:
- Support and advance the cause of medical education at Temple;
- Foster fellowship among alumni, faculty, and students;
- Engender pride in the institution, preserving and enhancing the School’s reputation; and
- Promote the general welfare of the School
A select group of alumni members are elected to serve on the Board of Directors. Directors hold specific responsibilities for governing the Association, including voting on initiatives, participating in strategic planning, and overseeing the implementation of the Association’s mission.
The MAA Committees are dedicated to advancing the mission and impact of the Medical Alumni Association by focusing on several key priority initiatives. These initiatives are designed to strengthen the connection between alumni, current students, and the institution while fostering a sense of community and support. Through their efforts, the committees aim to ensure that alumni engagement remains meaningful and impactful, benefiting both the association and the next generation of medical professionals. Current priorities include:
- Supporting the annual MAA Alumni Awards, which celebrate outstanding achievements and contributions of alumni.
- Building meaningful relationships with current students to enhance their educational experience and professional growth.
- Fundraising for the Medical Alumni Association Board Scholarship Fund, which provides financial assistance to deserving medical students with demonstrated need.
- Increasing alumni awareness and engagement with the MAA, creating opportunities for connection and collaboration.
