Cornelius (Neil) D. Pitts, PharmD – Consultant
Dr. Cornelius Pitts is an adjunct assistant professor of pharmacy practice at University of the Sciences, Philadelphia College of Pharmacy. Formerly, for 26 years, he served as a director of neuroscience clinical research at GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals and currently serves as Clinical Operation Manager for Invion LTD. Neil serves on the Board of Directors of the Health Promotions Council of Philadelphia formerly and has been chairperson of the NAACP health committee. Neil has also served on the faculty of the Drug Information Association. Currently, Dr. Pitts works with non-profit organizations to advocate for improved health among underserved populations of Philadelphia and is a founding director of Miriam Medical Clinics, Inc., charged with this mission in North Philadelphia. Through CBUHP, Dr. Pitts is the community advisor for the group of students working with Zion Cares Ministry for the Community Engagement course.
Dr. Pitts is an active participant in working toward improved health in underdeveloped nations. He travels frequently to Kenya, delivering pharmaceutical care and has collaborated with clinics in Haiti. Dr. Pitts frequently speaks on health issues pertaining to Philadelphia and the role health professionals in the global arena.
Dr. Pitts is a licensed pharmacist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania completing his undergraduate degree in Pharmacy at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science (now known as the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia), and received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from that institution, as well.
