RESEARCH INTERESTS
The Li Lab investigates how the cardiac microenvironment, niches of different cell types and states, evolves after ischemic injury. We use both regenerative and non-regenerative in vivo models to determine microenvironments conducive for cardiac repair and renewal. We utilize cutting-edge transcriptomic and proteomic approaches to study cross-talks between cardiac muscle cells and non-muscle cells, with the goal of enhancing pro-renewal remodeling in the adult heart.
