Medical and Basic Science Scholars Summer Research & Enrichment Program

This program presents a unique experience for students because it allows them to work side-by-side with researchers. Many of these students have never had the opportunity to work in a medical setting or lab and exposure is the best way to learn about potential future career paths.

What You'll Do

As a Scholar, you will:

  • Participate in ongoing studies, data analysis, or literature reviews
  • Learn lab techniques and research methods in real-time settings
  • Attend professional development sessions on communication, teamwork, and applying to graduate programs
  • Build a network of mentors, faculty, and fellow future health professionals

Who Should Apply

This program is designed for:

  • Rising college juniors or seniors, or recent college graduates
  • Students with a strong interest in medicine and/or basic sciences
  • Individuals from backgrounds in medicine or biomedical research
  • Applicants eager to pursue a professional or graduate-level career in health care or science

Locations: Temple University Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Fox Chase Cancer Center, and St. Luke's University Hospital

Duration: 8 weeks, Summer 2025
