Research Interests
My research focus is molecular biology of lung alveolar epithelial regeneration. I have identified that mitochondrial calcium dynamics play a role in alveolar epithelial progenitor cell plasticity following bacterial lung infection. I want to decipher the molecular mechanisms of how mitochondrial calcium dynamics mechanistically regulate genetic expression necessary for alveolar epithelial progenitor cell plasticity and lung regeneration.
