Dr. Lars Ola Sjoholm Named Chief of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care, and Medical Director of Trauma Program at Temple

Lars Ola I. Sjoholm, MD, has been appointed Chief of Trauma and Surgical Critical Care in the Department of Surgery at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (LKSOM), and Medical Director of the Trauma Program at Temple University Hospital. Dr. Sjoholm has been an Attending Trauma Surgeon at TUH since 2011. He is also an Assistant Professor of Surgery at LKSOM.

Goldberg, MD, FACS, Chair and Professor of Surgery at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine, Surgeon-in-Chief for Temple University Health System, and Medical Director of Perioperative Services at Temple University Hospital. “Our team looks forward to his guidance and collaboration for such an important program.”

Board-certified in General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care, Dr. Sjoholm’s specialties and research interests include general surgery, surgical critical care, penetrating trauma, and trauma research.  He earned his medical degree at the Lund University Medical School in Lund, Sweden. Dr. Sjoholm also completed a General Surgery Residency at Hoglands Hospital in Eksjo, Sweden, and Lund University Medical School; a General Surgery Residency at TUH; and a Trauma and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ.

Dr. Sjoholm is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Eastern Association for Surgery of Trauma, and Society of Critical Care Medicine.
