Fox Chase Cancer Center at Temple University Hospital Honored with American Cancer Society Award

The Fox Chase Cancer Center at Temple University Hospital was recently awarded the 2015 East Central Division Citation Award from the American Cancer Society. The Cancer Center was recognized for demonstrating outstanding cancer control efforts through screenings and community education. The Center was lauded for hosting seminars and programs in underserved communities, often partnering with local churches and other organizations.

Nestor F. Esnaola, MD, MPH, MBA, FACS, attending surgeon in surgical oncology at Fox Chase Cancer Center-Temple Health, was also presented with the 2015 Cancer Control Award from the American Cancer Society for his achievements in the field of cancer control. As Professor of Surgery and Associate Director for Cancer Health Disparities and Community Engagement, Esnaola has led cancer education and screening efforts in various diverse communities in North/Northeast Philadelphia served by Fox Chase Cancer Center-Temple Health.
