Dr. Frank Friedenberg Named Chief of the Section of Gastroenterology at Temple

Frank Friedenberg, MD, MS (Epi)Frank Friedenberg, MD, MS (Epi), has been named Chief of the Section of Gastroenterology at Temple University Hospital (TUH) and at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University (LKSOM). Dr. Friedenberg is also Professor of Medicine at LKSOM, and has served as Interim Chief of Gastroenterology at Temple since April 6. As Section Chief, he oversees all clinical, academic and research programs of the Section of Gastroenterology.

Dr. Friedenberg earned his medical degree from LKSOM. He then completed his residency at TUH, serving as chief resident, before completing gastroenterology fellowship training at Yale and Albert Einstein Medical Center. Dr. Friedenberg spent nine years at Einstein before returning to Temple in 2009.

Dr. Friedenberg has authored or co-authored more than 75 publications and ten book chapters, and is highly regarded as both an educator and a leader. He’s been named on multiple high profile doctors lists, including Best Doctors in America, America’s Top Gastroenterologists and U.S. News & World Report’s Top Doctors.
