World-Renowned Orthopaedic Surgeon Speaks at TUH

Grand Rounds take place on a regular basis at Temple University Hospital, and sometimes they create quite a buzz. That was the case in August when Temple’s Department of Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine hosted Freddie Fu, MD.

Dr. Fu is Chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. He is known worldwide for his pioneering surgical techniques to treat sports-related injuries and for his research and surgical skill in the field of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and repair. 

Under his leadership, Pitt’s Sports and Preventive Medicine Institute has grown into one of the world's most comprehensive and highly regarded sports medicine clinical and research centers.

Eric J. Kropf, MD, Chair of Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine at Temple, trained under Dr. Fu and was instrumental in bringing him to speak to Temple’s faculty and residents. The topic of Dr. Fu’s talk was “Individualized Anatomic ACL Reconstruction.”
