Simply call him abuelo: Featured Student Essay

February 14, 2018

One of the first students to approach me after I arrived at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine was Tim McKinley, now a third year student, who wanted to write about an experience with his father. Tim was a busy medical student, but worked hard on this narrative, did a beautiful job, and submitted it to the journal Neurology, which published it in its February, 2018 issue. This is a photo of Tim and his father, at Tim’s wedding, which will have more context and significance once you read the story. Congratulations, Tim! Below are the links, and there is also an audio version of Tim reading the story available from the links.
