USMLE Policies

All students are required to pass USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK in order to graduate from the MD program.  Students are allowed a total of three attempts to pass Step 1 and a total of three attempts to Pass Step 2 CK.  Failure to pass either exam after three attempts will result in a student being considered for dismissal from the school of medicine.

STEP 1 

A student must take USMLE Step 1 prior to beginning a course in Phase 3 of the curriculum.

Students are strongly encouraged to take Step 1 prior to the Transition to Phase 2 course. 

STEP 2CK 

A student must pass Step 2 CK no later than one week prior to graduation.  

Students are strongly encouraged to take Step 2 CK prior to submission of their residency application.
