A Message from Ahmed M.S. Soliman, MD
Professor and Interim Chair, Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery

The Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Temple University has a rich history dating back almost a century. Innovators in our specialty worked here in the early 20th Century, developing procedures and methods that advanced the practice of otolaryngology and added measurably to the quality of patients’ lives.

That spirit of clinical excellence and the ongoing pursuit of knowledge continue to the present day. Our faculty physicians deliver compassionate and cutting-edge medical and surgical care across the range of the specialty of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. Our otolaryngologists have advanced training and extensive experience in all areas of the field, including pediatric otolaryngology, otology and neurotology, rhinology, laryngology, head and neck surgery, and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.

In addition, our Department offers a major training program for residents pursuing careers in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. Prior residents have completed training at Temple to enter fellowships in various subspecialties, as well as to begin practice in both private and academic settings. Our educational mission also encompasses training of medical students in otolaryngology, as well as advanced programs in continuing medical education designed to provide ongoing training to practicing physicians and allied health personnel.

Finally, our Department values basic and clinical research as a core component of the specialty. Residents and faculty are actively involved in otolaryngology research, frequently publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals and presenting papers at local, regional, national and international meetings.

We welcome your interest in our Department. Please feel free to contact me with any questions about our current programs and future plans.

Sincerely,

Ahmed M.S. Soliman, MD
