The Center for Neurovirology and Gene Editing (CNVGE) at Temple University is at the forefront of understanding how viruses impact the central nervous system (CNS) and developing gene editing-based therapies to combat neurological diseases. Established in 2021, CNVGE brings together a diverse team of leading scientists, researchers, and clinical collaborators dedicated to translating groundbreaking discoveries into innovative treatments.
At CNVGE, we know that breakthroughs don’t happen in isolation. They require a collective of top-tier researchers, physicians, and students working across disciplines to reimagine neurological treatment. Our faculty, spanning over 13 departments, actively collaborate on research into neuroHIV, brain tumors, multiple sclerosis, neurodegenerative disorders, and other viral illnesses. Through interdisciplinary partnerships and pioneering genetic technologies, we strive to advance the field of neurovirology and gene editing for future generations.
