Advocacy and Environment

The goal of this subcommittee is to create and maintain a safe space for all faculty, staff, residents, and students in the Temple University Department of Surgery. As medicine is an evolving field and we are all life-long learners, we want to ensure that our learning environment is educational, respectful, and beneficial for everyone. Specifically, we aim to foster a collaborative environment that is inclusive to all though:

1. Updating our policy on inclusion within the surgical residency program
2. Improving the existing reporting system utilized by residents and faculty to give positive and constructive feedback. We aspire to be mindful when feedback occurs, because what we do, what we say, and how we say it matters.
