Favorite Thing About Temple: The people (I know, cliché!)—from my fellow residents to the faculty—I’m consistently in awe of the abilities of those I get to work with. I see them handle some of the most challenging medical and social situations with ease. This program teaches you how to be a great doctor—and an even better person.
Favorite thing about Philly: It has a great old school city feel with lots of parks, local bars and cute side streets. Lots of great food and passionate people. Best sports city ever!!
Fun fact: I'm currently training for the Philly Half marathon. It is going poorly. You'll have to come to Temple for residency to see if I made it 🙂

In my free time: You can typically find me either at the barn riding horses in Jersey, lounging at the beach down the shore, going to a wine bar (shout out Old City Vino), or running up a game of Sid Meier's Civilization. Just one more turn, am I right?
Favorite Thing About Temple: From couples matching with my partner to starting my second year, one thing that’s always stood out to me about Temple is our culture—it’s incredibly supportive, close-knit, and filled with people who are passionate about serving our patient population.
Favorite thing about Philly: I love exploring all the different coffee shops, restaurants, and bars across various neighborhoods. Sitting at SIPS with my friends in the summer is one of my favorite memories. I also love venturing outside of Philly, especially quaint towns such as New Hope!

Name: Annika Sundlof
Year: PGY2
Medical school: Temple
Hometown: Hellertown, PA
Career Interests: Pulmonary/critical care vs hospital medicine
In my free time: I like to walk around the city, play board games, and try new coffee shops and restaurants with friends! Philly is very walkable and also has great running trails, so no matter the time of day, it is easy to get outside during free time away from the hospital.
Favorite Thing About Temple: The Temple community is unmatched! The patients we meet each day teach us so much, coresidents are supportive and kind, and faculty are generous in sharing their mentorship and knowledge. I learned so much at Temple as a medical student and couldn't imagine being anywhere else for residency!
Favorite thing about Philly: Its neighborhoods! You can walk just a couple of miles through the city and see 3 or 4 different neighborhoods that feel like different towns in themselves, each with unique architecture, food, and public art (Philly has over 4000 murals)!
Fun fact: Before medical school, I worked in a genetics lab studying yeast mating.
