Sabbath Observant Program

Temple is proud to offer one (1) spot each year in its categorical residency which accommodates Shabbat observant residents (Shomer Shabbos). There is a separate match number (Internal Medicine/Sabbath Observed: 1646140C2).

All interested applicants should apply through ERAS and then contact Dr. Daniel Mueller upon being offered an interview.

The Sabbath observant resident will complete all of the same rotations and work the same number of hours as those in the regular categorical program.

To accommodate the Sabbath schedule, the resident will not be expected to work on Friday night, Saturday or the following Jewish holidays: Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot (first 2 days), Shmini Atzeret, Simchat Torah, Passover (first 2 days and last 2 days), and Shavuot.
