Research Interests
Sudarsan Rajan, PhD, has his expertise in development of gene targeted cell and mouse models for cardiovascular research. His current research using an integrated molecular, cell and biochemistry approach is now focused on exploring the role of mitochondrial calcium homeostasis and redox biology in cell function. Dr. Rajan is also the Director for the Cell and Gene Vector core that is actively supported by NIH funding and provides an essential centralized support service to the investigators of Center for Translational Medicine and Cardiovascular Research Center at Temple University on the grants, meeting the demands of vector development, production, purification and testing the recombinant gene therapy viral vectors (Adenovirus, AAVs, Lentivirus and Retrovirus) for in vitro and in vivo use.
