Mary Beth Hays, MSW- Program Manager

Mary Beth Hays newly joins CBUHP as the program manager for Healing Hurt People at Temple University. She is a licensed social worker who received her Master's in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania. She graduated from the University of Kansas with a BA in Sociology, specializing in psychology and child development. Ms. Hays is a certified Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S), Professor of Mindfulness Based Play-Family Therapy and is a certified crisis responder with the National Organization of Victim Assistance (NOVA). Ms. Hays has served as a mental health consultant on child and family issues for the Multi-disciplinary Physical Abuse Review Team with the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia as well as for the Philadelphia Family Violence Coordinating Council. Most recently she has served as the Director of Counseling Services for the Anti-Violence Partnership of Philadelphia where she provided supervision, trainings, consultation and direct service (for eighteen years) to those that had been effected by family and community violence with a primary focus on co-victims of homicide. She has also provided testimonies in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas as an expert in child trauma.
