Temple Emergency Action Corps (TEAC)

Temple Emergency Action Corps (TEAC) in Panama in 2016

“Our experiences in New Orleans have led us to believe that medical students can and should provide valuable assistance after a disaster. We therefore created a program designed to teach the skills required for such a venture to be successful.”

Founding TEAC Members

Temple Emergency Acton Corps (TEAC), in affiliation with the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, was founded by a group of medical students in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Through the dedication and insight of these LKSOM medical students and the generous support of The Greenfield Foundation, the Temple Emergency Action Corps (TEAC) was founded. TEAC’s mission is twofold: to educate future physicians in medical disaster relief and utilize medical students as a resource for the provision of sub-acute disaster relief care. TEAC is dedicated to providing compassionate, culturally conscious medical care in cases of local, national, and international disasters.

COVID-19 Response

TEAC remains committed to the health of the community during these times. While some regular TEAC operations have had to be suspended for the time being, our students remain involved in volunteer efforts related to COVID-19. Our grant program for the 2020 year has also been modified to fund COVID-19 related projects.
