Clinical Experience

The Temple Ophthalmology Residency Program is a strong clinically-oriented training program in Philadelphia, a major medical city, and a great “eye town” with multiple other training programs. The program consists of nine total residents, three each year. The Temple Ophthalmology Residency Program prides itself on its collegial atmosphere, and teamwork between residents and faculty is essential to the success of the program.

The Temple University Hospital facilities are located four miles north of Center City Philadelphia. Temple residents also have the privilege of rotating through five other major institutions during their training: Wilmington Hospital (Christiana Care Health System), Wilmington Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Nemours/AI duPont Hospital, Wills Eye Hospital, and the Scheie Eye Institute. This combination of clinical environments provides a broad and diverse training experience.
