The following procedures are among those supported by the Animal Models and Behavioral Testing Core:

  • Intravenous and oral drug self-administration
  • Drug discrimination
  • Operant responding for food
  • Cognitive tests
  • Conditioned place preference
  • Stress models
  • Behavioral activity, including locomotion, stereotypy and sensitization
  • Anxiety-like behaviors, including elevated plus maze, defensive burying test, open field test, and light-dark box
  • Depression-like behaviors, including the forced swim and tail-suspension tests  
  • Sucrose preference test
  • Breeding of genetically modified mice
