A Message from Varun Sethi, MD and Tamim Kaddash, MD
Co-Chief Residents of Diagnostic Radiology, 2017-2018

Thank you for your interest in the diagnostic radiology residency program at Temple University Hospital (TUH). We hope that you find this web site informative.

As a tertiary hospital with one of the busiest Level I trauma centers in Philadelphia, TUH is regularly host to a myriad of pathology, providing our residents with the necessary exposure and sound training needed for a career in this challenging specialty. As a program without fellows, our residents get first line exposure and access to all the pathology that go through our department.

We have implemented changes to accommodate the new licensing examination schedule which will consist of a core exam 36 months after the beginning of training, and a certifying exam 15 months after graduation. We are proud to have a 100% pass rate for all that have taken the new core exam.

The City of Philadelphia is a world-renowned center for medicine and scientific research. There are multiple opportunities to participate in social and academic sessions with our counterparts from other radiology programs throughout the city and region. The Philadelphia Roentgen Ray Society is among the oldest radiology societies in the United States and meets regularly for events ranging from lectures to dinners to the annual "College Bowl" radiology competition. Our residents are given the opportunity and encouraged to become involved in research and academic conferences.

We pride ourselves in the camaraderie and collegiality among our residents, both in and outside of work. We have yearly fantasy football leagues, have joined kickball, dodgeball and basketball recreational leagues as well on gone multiple resident ski trips to Vermont.

The location of our main hospital is accessible to those living in center city or numerous surrounding neighborhoods, allowing our residents to pursue their own style of living. Active nightlife and a variety of weekend activities abound. The Philadelphia restaurant scene is unsurpassed. Additionally, Philadelphia is home to four major sports teams and a multitude of concerts and other cultural attractions.

We look forward to receiving your application to the Temple University Department of Radiology Residency Program. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact either one of us.
