About Me

Research Interests

Dr. Oxberry was trained as an anatomist and has done research in female reproductive biology. His more recent scholarship and creative work has been focused on the development and implementation of computer-based learning resources specifically designed to address educational objectives and needs in the medical and dental school curriculums. These efforts have produced a series of interactive, computer-based learning tools that engage students with high-resolution images, thought provoking text, and interactive environments. The computer applications created thus far are currently published as two CD-ROM's. The "Neuroanatomy Laboratory Assistant" CD-ROM contains a comprehensive collection of interactive neuroanatomical images, laboratory exercises and other learning resources including clinical case studies and video clips that demonstrate and explain the major components of the neurological exam. The "Gross Anatomy Laboratory Assistant" CD-ROM contains two extensive applications: the "Cross Section Navigator" a computer based learning tool created to help medical and dental students learn the cross sectional anatomy of the head, neck, thorax, abdomen, pelvis and perineum; and the "Diagnostic Image Collection" a computer based learning tool created to help medical and dental students learn the basic radiographic anatomy of the back, upper extremity, thorax, abdomen, pelvis, lower extremity and head.
